Summary:
Performs medical front office functions while providing excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL
Responsibilities:
Greets patients and other visitors when they arrive.
Answers telephones, schedules and coordinates appointments, forwards messages to appropriate staff member.
Provides pertinent information per doctor's instructions or established clinic guidelines.
Checks in patients for appointment to ensure timely patient flow.
Verifies and updates patient information.
Checks out patients after their appointment.
Reviews and collects co-insurance, deductibles, self-pay and open balances.
Reconciles charges and payments at close of day.
Remains current on insurance and coding issues by attending provided workshops and programs as applicable.
Sends, receives, and distributes faxes.
Calls patients to remind them of next day appointments as required.
Creates a list of office supplies that need to be ordered and give to Supervisor.
Consistently displays a positive attitude and a personal commitment to excellence.
Attends all department meetings and clinic required meetings.
Maintains strict confidentiality.
Competencies:

Experience:
High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Education and
Experience:
One-year experience in a medical office setting.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position in an outpatient medical business office setting.
The estimated schedule is Monday through Friday between the hours of 7am to 7pm and rotating weekends for Pediatrics and Immediate Care Clinics.
Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some overtime as approved in advance.
Travel:
This position may require travel to other White-Wilson locations.
Work Environment:
This position requires regular and reliable on-site attendance.
Environmentally controlled medical environment.
Fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent situations.
